  dear person who knows my mother, i want you to know that i am not nor have i never been a jw.

  yes as you well know i was raised in the org but i was never baptised into it.

  OK Blood card

  i had a doctor's appointment last week, and we talked about the blood issue.

  i informed her that i was no longer a jehovah's witness and that i would accept blood if it meant my life.

  she reminded me that she will make a note of it, but that i should inform the local hospitals--in the event that i had to be hospitalized and was in a coma and couldn't speak for myself.

  JW Funeral experiences / suggestions ?

  i just read in the paper today that an elderly man who was off - on as a witness recently died.. i was friends with his kids back in the 70's, so i am considering going to the memorial.

  it will be on new years day.. since i am da'ed, and have not been inside a kh for around two years, what kind of reaction should i expect ?.

  i am well aware of the shunning, but will i be treated like a criminal once i step inside ?

  Smurf Day

  after seeing the following video, i have decided to adopt the term "smurf day" for ex-jw's birthdays.

  they missed so many and need to remember why they are now so special.

  plus, a smurf movie is supposed to come out soon.

  Oompa update

  i don't post much, so most of you don't know me.

  i live in nc near oompa, and he has become a good friend with my wife and i over the last few years.. so as an update, my wife visited oompa today!

  he's recovering, but has a long recovery to go.

  it was time for me to leave the wt (at least in my mind) when it became damaging to me.
